Second Bilateral French-Italian Workshop
Open issues and emerging approaches in geo-environmental mechanics
Arpino, Italy, 2-4 May 2017

The workshop is organised by the International Research Center on Mathematics and Mechanics of Complex Systems (M&MoCS) of the University of L’Aquila (Italy) in collaboration with the GDR MeGe, French Research Network in Multi-Physics and Multi-scale Couplings in Geo-Environmental Mechanics.
This workshop proposes to shed light on the most emerging multiscale technics in geo-environmental mechanics, by gathering a part of the international community contributing actively in this field. An updated synthesis of the most recent developments will be therefore extracted. Beyond fundamental contributions, a particular attention will be given to engineering applications, among which:

1) Catastrophic failures and triggering mechanisms;
2) Safety of storage reservoirs;
3) Energetic geomechanics.

The workshop will be held in the historical city of Arpino, 100 kilometers south east of Rome, in Italy.
