The International Research Center on Mathematics and Mechanics of Complex Systems (M&MoCS) of the University of L’Aquila and McGill University, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Montreal, Canada in collaboration with the Department of Architecture of the University of Sassari and with the patronage of the Fondazione Alghero  are pleased to announce the second edition of International Conference on Nonlinear Solid Mechanics ICoNSOM 2022 will take place at the Alghero School of Architecture, Sardinia, Italy, from 13 to 16 June, 2022.

On behalf of the organizing committee, it is our great pleasure to invite you to the ICoNSoM 2022 Conference in Alghero, the Catalan pearl of Sardinia, Italy. ICoNSoM 2022 Conference is intended to provide an international opportunity for communicating recent developments in various areas of nonlinear solid mechanics. The International Conference of Nonlinear solid Mechanics will be held on 13-16 June 2022 at the Alghero School of Architecture of the University of Sassari, Ex Ospedale di Santa Chiara, Muralla de l’Hospital (Bastioni Pigafetta) 07041 Alghero, in a prestigious building in the historic center of the city of Alghero.
June is the perfect month to visit Alghero. The historical monuments, attractions, and superb cuisine have made the city a favorite travel destination. The organizers will take great care in organizing great social events, including a welcome party, a dinner gala, and a special dinner for the mini-symposium organizers and plenary speakers.

SCIENTIFIC PURPOSE

ICoNSoM Conferences are intended to provide an international opportunity for communicating recent developments in various areas of nonlinear solid mechanics and materials. After the very successful 4th Canadian Conference on Nonlinear Solid Mechanics, held on July 23-26, 2013 at McGill University, Montreal, Canada, and the Conference ICoNSoM 2019, held on June 16-19, 2019 at the prestigious building of Argiletum in Rome, Italy, which were truly international events and have seen the-sponsoring participation of McGill University and M&MoCS Center, we decided to follow up this series of fully international conferences on the same subject. The framework of ICoNSoM 2022 is truly multidisciplinary and scientists from all over the world are encouraged to contribute to the conference. The technical program will include plenary speakers, regular sessions including contributing papers, and mini-symposia sessions on pre-defined topics of nonlinear mechanics of solids and materials as well as areas of linear mechanics of solids and materials that are bridging nonlinear aspects.
A special issue of the Journal Mathematics and Mechanics of Solids is planned with selected papers presented at the conference.
